Stayed here for three days on a much needed vacation. hands down the best place to stay. Rooms are beautiful and clean. Beds are comfortable! The Inn Keepers Jim and Jane are awesome! It's so close to town and you can walk everywhere ! Breakfast was great! We met some really great people and will be going back.

Lovely night and morning here! We can walk to downtown, they accommodated our late arrival as well as a request for late check out. Clean rooms, friendly hosts, delightful porch with view of river and Mt. Adams, plentiful breakfast with fresh fruit and cold brewed toddy coffee!!

This was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and it was a great experience. The owner, Jane, is amazing -- accommodating and very friendly. It is a block from downtown and the house is gorgeous and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here two nights and had a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Sky Room that has lots of space and a lovely bathroom. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Lots of space to read or watch TV with great views of the river and the mountain. I look forward to returning!

My first BnB experience was this weekend at Hood River B&B. I was a tad nervous, not knowing what to expect, but had nothing but a great experience! The innkeepers were friendly and knowledgeable about the area and activities. They suggested what turned out to be a fantastic bike ride on the old Highway that was converted to a trail. The house is clean and kept up. Lots of books and dvds --but honestly we were spending most of our time doing outdoor activities. Our room was the master suite upstairs with a private bath. I highly recommend spending the extra money for that room. It was huge and had a spacious walk-in closet. There was enough room for us to have our bags and stuff and 2 road bikes without feeling cramped. The bed was comfortable and had a fantastic view of Mt. Adams and the river. It was very peaceful. There was a lovely breeze too. The A/C wasn't really needed because of the breeze. I suggest bringing sleep masks. There are a lot of big windows in the room and if you are a light sleeper, the sun will wake you up. The bathroom was large and had a huge jacuzzi tub! It was a wonderful experience! The breakfasts were also very good. Much better than I expected! The first morning was scrambled eggs, freshly baked boysenberry muffins and a LOT of local fruit. I was stuffed! The second morning was crepes with more local fruit. I was full from that breakfast too. The BnB is very close to downtown and we walked almost every where. I loved our experience there and I would definitely return!

Jim and Jane, owners of this B&B are fantastic! The home is well cared for, clean and comfortable. Here's the best part - they accept babies and even have a pack and play that can be used at no extra charge!!! The breakfast is great and Jim's crepes are truly a delight! I can't wait to come back!

I traveled to Hood River, OR for a friends wedding at a nearby winery. After reviewing the numerous B&B's in the area, the Hood River B&B seemed to be the best combination of economy and comfort...and the experience matched my expectations. Even when booking my stay, Jane, the owner was friendly and helpful. My only regret was that I wasn't able to stay longer! The room was clean, comfortable with a great view of the Columbia River. The bathroom was also clean, right across the hall with a stand-up shower and toiletries provided, if needed. Nothing fancy, but shower pressure was good (which is something I take note of, seriously!) Breakfast was delicious crepes, and local, fresh fruit (made by Jim, who apparently perfected the recipe while living in France). There is a nice sitting area indoors with tons of books and a patio overlooking the river, which I did not have time to experience, unfortunately. The owners were always helpful and friendly. Jane even drove me down the street to meet the shuttle to the wedding. They also were welcoming to my guests who were staying in other locations around town. Overall, very hospitable, friendly, knowledgable about the area with a lovely little B&B. Fantastic town, trip and accommodations. Thank you for making my experience in Hood River so memorable!

Looking for a bed and breakfast that was affordable, spacious and close to downtown, we decided on Hood river b and b and we were not disappointed. It fulfilled all of our expectations: friendly innkeepers, clean rooms, decent breakfast and spacious areas for hanging out. At first when we arrived, we were a bit worried. We were met at the door by a gentlemen who didn't seem quite clued in on our arrival who was wearing reallly dirty pants (Jim) and when we walked in the door he introduced us to this woman curled up on the couch as a guest using the media room. The entire rest of the day/evening the guest was using the media room (must have been a big tv fanatic). The rooms did not have television, but we weren't interested in watching so that was fine. As we were given a tour of the house, it became more apparent that the man was not clueless, just a bit distant in his manner and actually ended up being quite friendly. He told us that the kitchen was off limits (and, again, my initial response, was, "Oh no, one of those controlling b and b owners who really can't stand to have anyone in their house) . And as he showed us our room, pointing out the air conditioner and saying "But I'm sure you won't use that because it is cool enough in here as it is" I was reinforced in my view, only to find out my judgement was wrong. He later explained that the health department forbids anyone to enter the kitchen, and both Jim and Jane were very dedicated to being "green" which explained the air conditioner comment. As the evening wore on and in the morning, we clearly felt welcomed to the house, so my worries were dispelled. We didn't meet Jane until later that evening. Our room was one of three upstairs, the largest with a deep whirlpool tub, a large walk in closet, a sitting area and a queen bed. The accomodations were simple (not fru fru), comfortable and servicable (a bottle of water was sitting on the table for us with glasses for water and wine set beside them). A futon in the sitting area was a decent place to read. One complaint about the room, it had very little window coverings and the place seemed like a well lit room up until after 10pm and starting at 4:30am, so if you are al ight sleeper, bring a mask! Also, even though the room might be cool enough without the air and all the windows open (of which there were many! including several in the closet), the street noise was horrendous so we had to close them. A few other notes about the room that made the visit more comfortable: the counter tiles in the bathroom were higher than normal so we weren't stooping, the kleenex was really kleenex and not some cheap bulk generic and the ceiling fan was a good addition. Breakfast was basic but good and there wasn't a lot of waste. Often at b and b's I get a full plate full of food without anyone asking whether or not I want that much or I want all the choices. I have to push the food around that I don't finish, feeling badly about not eating it. Here, Jane asked and was very responsive to both of our requests and we both ate what we requested. Two things stood out for me: she had a huge tea selection with probably over 20 choices (and tea was available at 7am), and she offered a huge fruit selection as well as local jams (the fruits included raspberries, oranges, bananas, strawberries and another kind of blackberry like fruit that wasn't blackberry). There were 6-8 local jams. We were served french toast as the main course, cereal and orange juice and yogurt was also available. Jane and Jim ate with us and were very friendly and interesting. Jane was a swimming coach and a geology masters while Jim runs his own mapping software company. It was fascinating listening to him explain how the mapping is used. It had never occured to me. Finally, I want to note a few of the extras that Jane provided that truly made us feel welcome and like we will definitely be coming back: in the evening we were sitting out on the back deck that overlooks the Columbia River (beautiful views of the river from all over the house) and Jane came out and told us where the cushions were for the furniture. In the morning, I asked where a laundry mat was and Jane offered to do the laundry for us herself. That was very helpful. Finally, when I asked what time we needed to check out, her response was "whenever". By the time we left at noon, we felt that we had stayed at someone's house who really enjoyed having guests and felt very relaxed about their visit. We will definitely be back.
